“Muchas veces, damos este derecho por sentado o creemos que nuestro voto no hace ninguna diferencia, pero con más de 6 millones Hispanos en Florida, nuestro voto tiene poder si queremos ver cambios.” - Yesica Ramírez, General Coordinator for The Farmworker Association of Florida, Inc.
The Strategic Initiative:
Civic engagement is a cornerstone of a thriving democracy, yet many communities, including Mexican farmworkers, face significant barriers to participation. The Farmworker Association of Florida supports "Get out the Vote Out" actions that address these obstacles and encourage their community to become active participants in the political process.
For the 2022 election cycle, the Farmworkers Association of Florida partnered with Florida Rising and Mix Theory Studios to send messages to Hispanic Americans in Florida to vote for the issues they care about such as affordable housing, fair wages and basic Human rights of agricultural labor.
Mix Theory Studios captured, directed and produced three TV commercials to share their message. Services included location shoot, voiceover, storyboarding, directing, editing and sound design to include original music.
These commercials were broadcast nationally and televised during the World Series.
